Count Spike x Doodle World

Count Spike is more than happy in this dubious universe…

I present to you a fusion between 2 styles: On one side we have the specific style of the Cactus universe, full of color and contrast, and on the other side we have Doodle World, a cartoonish style full of details. There are 2 styles that I have been exploring in parallel for some time, so I experimented with a pretty funky fusion that I think blends quite well.

Everything related to this illustration was designed on an iPad Pro tablet. The cactus was initially designed in Nomad Sculpt, later outlined in Procreate. For the background I tested Adobe Fresco, because I wanted the illustration to have as clear a line as possible, ideally vectorial.

Cast of Characters

Count Spike is probably the oldest and most terrifying character in Cactus World… He is hundreds of years old and was once the most feared cactus… Parents used to threaten their children using his name. Today, he is no longer at the heights he once was. He is hunched over, from the pain of his teeth, his real teeth have long since fallen out, now he has a prosthesis that he puts in a glass of water every morning when he goes to bed. However, ambitious by nature, he still tries to inspire fear, but unfortunately only children are vaguely afraid of him.
